Thursday Workshops presented by the Greater Madison Writing Project. Participants will attend their choice of two sessions. Snacks provided.

Friday’s Convention will feature a keynote address with Allison Marchetti. Attendees will also participate in a smaller-group workshop session with Allison, to further apply the concepts covered in the keynote. The rest of the day, attendees will have their choice of numerous breakout sessions. Lunch also provided.

First time at the WCTE Convention?

The Pooley Foundation Convention Grant has been created to support funding teachers from three demographics (first or second-year teachers, rural teachers, and urban teachers) who have not attended a WCTE convention before. Grant recipients will receive:

  • free WCTE membership for one year
  • hotel room cost (at state rate) for Thursday night at the convention site
  • registration for Thursday afternoon workshop and Friday convention
  • substitute costs for two days (up to $100 per day)

The Pooley Foundation Convention Grant will be awarded to two first- or second-year teachers, one rural teacher and one urban teacher. The grant application can be found at  https://forms.gle/NHcqoEAfmL5jVGbp8.  The application deadline is Friday, September 20th. Awardees will be informed by Friday, September 27th in order to register for the convention and secure substitute teachers.
