WCTE recommends that Wisconsin winners of NCTE’s student awards be recognized each year at events in students’ schools and localities. WCTE recognizes teachers and advisors of student award winners at the WCTE convention based upon information available since the previous WCTE convention.

NCTE Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines

Instructions available at the NCTE website identify the materials to be sent to the state coordinator for this award as well as the local deadline.
NCTE Writing Awards
The following two NCTE Student Awards formerly administered in Wisconsin by state coordinators are now run online via the NCTE website:
- NCTE Promising Young Writers Award, for students in eighth grade
- NCTE Achievement Awards in Writing, for students in eleventh grade
